Front Row Society, Self initiated
A personal reflection on the double sidedness of candies and in particular marshmallows, which I used to enjoy from a plastic bag on Sundays, walking on a tight rope between heavenly feelings vs. nausea and toothaches.
Diamond plastic ducks mutate into flowers decked with mussels-leaves, sailor moon's hearts flutter between gilded rococo feathers and a real golden tooth filling glimmers in between the symphony of Tiger Eyes, bogus rubies and a profusion of all sorts of stolen beads.
Created from the scanned and lovingly rearranged treasures of my childhood's most precious blings.
Here I was trying to grasp and reproduce the fleeting memory of those late 80s-first 90s exercise books' covers I used to stare at in awe.
Drink orange juice because it's good for you!!!
It's a bit of a project to squeeze it out by hand but the results will give you much satisfaction.
TO BUILD A CASTLE
I first started drawing with a mishmash of colorful markers but once merged into a tight structure the composition ended up looking most successful tuned down in a more withdrawn black and white form. Its name came as a homage to Bukovsky's book (no, it's not Charles, it's Vladimir!) as a reminder to read it as soon as possible.
Happiness is the longing for repetition.
